Jody Driscoll

Head Coach - Coach Driscoll begins his eighth year as head coach and his fourth year as Aquatics Director and Water Polo coach at Gilman.  For most of the last 18 years he has been a guidance counselor and coached swimming for High School, USS, YMCA and CMSL league teams. Coach Driscoll can work with swimmers of all ages and ability and stresses stroke technique and discipline. Most of all, his passion for swimming and the belief that it should be fun provides energy to the Mariner program.

Stacey Miller

Assistant Coach - Coach Miller begins her fourth year as a Mariner coach and her fifth as a teacher at Perry Hall Middle School.  She spent thirteen years swimming in the YMCA and USS system in Marshall County West Virginia, as well as coaching summer league teams and teaching lessons.   Coach Miller works with the Level 2 and 3 groups.

Chris Proietti

Assistant Coach - Coach Proietti joins us from sunny California where he swam competitively from age 5 through college.  He also played Water Polo for UC Santa Barbara.  In addition to his love of swimming, he brings his teaching experience and desire to develop swimmers of all abilities to the program. Coach Proietti begins his second year as the Level 3 coach.  

Amy Brugh

Assistant Coach - Coach Brugh joins us this year as a Level 3/4 coach.  A former Mariner swimmer, she has also been a swim school instructor and summer league coach. Coach Brugh brings a strong instructional background and a passion for coaching.

Sara Florio

Sara Florio began swimming competitively at age 8 on CMSL teams, and later on, for Catonsville Castaways & GBSA. She has been coaching swimming since 1992. Sara is a Level 2 certified ASCA coach, as well as a Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor. She has coached CMSL, IAAM, USS & Masters teams. Sara loves swimming & strives to provide a friendly atmosphere to help swimmers refine their techniques, build their endurance, learn from past experiences & improve their competitive performances. She believes in starting with small, basic elements & then building upon that foundation to help swimmers persevere to reach their fullest potential. Sara loves coaching & looks forward to gaining more knowledge & experience, promoting team unity & encouraging swimmers to strive to meet their goals. Sara is happily married & has 2 daughters.
 

Clarke Nyman

Coach Clarke joins our team from the state of New York. He is an enthusiastic, high energy & spirited coach. He has 4 years of coaching experience, which includes summer swim league, technique clinics & youth swim lessons. Coach Clarke encourages hard work and improvement, along with a strong emphasis on learning technique and having fun.

Jessica Nelson

Jess Nelson has began swimming at age 7 and continued to swim through her sophomore year of college at Johns Hopkins University.  She has coached at the Kennett Area YMCA (her home team) and for the past two summers, she has coached the Stoneleigh Swim Club.  She also runs the Johns Hopkins AquaJays Swim Clinic at Hopkins.  At Mariners, Jess is coaching the Level 1's and 2C's.  She is graduating in May with a degree in East Asian Studies and History.
